Are you a fan of steamed buns? If so, San Francisco is the town for you. There is a ton of options if you want to sample a fluffy, steamed bun filled with savory meats and sauces. While there are lots of traditional options in Chinatown, the food team at the San Francisco Chronicle has compiled a list of the most creative baos in the city. Register for the convention today and enjoy them all!
Start with a more traditional Peking Duck bao at Yank Sing, located just a six-minute walk from the convention hotel, and then eat your way through the rest of town. The San Francisco Chronicle list includes buttermilk fried chicken steamed bun from Hapa Ramen, Mapo Sloppy Joes and bahn mi from ABV and bao de chicharron from Chino. You won’t find a more decadent alternative to the humble sandwich.
Head over to the SF Chronicle for the full list and check out the team’s handy interactive map below.
