AAJA congratulates the winner of the 2013 CIC/Anna Chennault Scholarship. This year’s scholarship, which provides a  grant to one college freshman, was awarded to Jennifer Crane of UCLA. The winner received a $3,900 scholarship and a registration for the 2013 AAJA convention in New York with all travel and lodging costs covered. Crane has also been paired with a professional mentor from the AAJA-LA chapter.

This year’s applicant pool was judged by a team of judges from the AAJA-Portland chapter. The final winner was selected by the Council for International Cooperation (CIC). Anna Chennault is the Founder and Chairman of CIC, a non-profit, non-political organization, whose goal is to promote better understanding between the United States, China and Taiwan. CIC supports educational exchange programs in the arts, humanities, and sciences. Annually, CIC provides scholarships worldwide.
