The Power of One fund is the most direct way an individual can support the work of AAJA’s important work on increasing the number of Asian Americans in today’s newsrooms. We invite you to answer our call and give to Power of One.
Among many other projects, Power of One supports our MediaWatch work in calling out KTVU’s egregious gaffed when it reported fake, offensive names of Asiana pilots involved in a San Francisco plane crash. Your donation will fund projects like these that hold news organizations accountable when they fail to accurately represent Asian Americans.
It doesn’t matter how much you give. Join our family of AAJA supporters at any level.
Are you a student? AAJA is committed to helping Asian American students like you get internships and jobs in journalism. How about a $10 donation?
Are you an ELP graduate? You know the empowerment that AAJA programs inspire. Would you consider a $100 donation?
If you’re a publisher or newsroom executive, check out Seattle Times publisher Frank Blethen. In July, he offered to match all funds raised over the course of two weeks – up to $2,000 – in a campaign called #2K2WKS. Donors answered his call and gave more than his match offer.
I want to personally thank everyone who has made a difference by donating to AAJA’s Power of One so far this year. Join our growing family of donors now.
