Jessica Lum, Student Journalist, Produces Photo-documentary in Thailand

Student AAJA member Jessica Lum, Daily Bruin photojournalist and writer, traveled to Thailand in August 2008 with co-worker Robert Faturechi to do a special package on the dynamics of non-governmental organizations and HIV/AIDS in the Thai community.

The two were among four inaugural recipients of the Bridget O'Brien Scholarship, created in remembrance of former Daily Bruin photographer Bridget O'Brien who passed away in October 2007.

Lum is a fourth-year English major with a Geography/Environmental studies minor at UCLA, and has been a member of AAJA since 2008. The Sacramento native was selected to participate in AAJA's multimedia training program in May 2008.
