San Francisco Chronicle Launches "Pinoy Pod"

Pinoy Pod is a weekly podcast channel for Filipinos that will feature stories and interviews on the Filipino experience. The podcast will be in English, Tagalog and other Philippine languages. Its first episode features a Tagalog rendition of the Star Spangled Banner entitled Bagong Hinirang by Philippine folk singer Joey Ayala, and an interview with Ayala about the song.

Chronicle staff involved in the project include Ben Pimentel, Pinoy Pod producer and business reporter; Leslie Guevarra, deputy managing editor; Pati Poblete, editorial writer and columnist; Benny Evangelista, podcast producer; Michelle Louie, copy editor; and Cicero Estrella, metro reporter.
