Fifteen-year-old Ichinkhorloo "Iko" Bayarsaikhan was slain during an attempted robbery Halloween night in Alameda, California, the first homicide this year in the San Francisco suburb. Bayarsaikhan immigrated to the United States with her family three years ago from Mongolia. The Bay Area has 5,000 Mongolian Americans. Her parents said she hoped to become an overseas journalist reporting on foreign cultures. A KRON-TV video identified the two suspects-at-large as Asian males.
