After a notable restoration project, Angel Island, the immigration station for incoming Chinese in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, will re-open Feb. 15, 2009. The station survived a demolition effort in the 1970s and was spared just two months ago from a major blaze on the island, which sits on San Francisco Bay.
