Lightweight and super featherweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao was featured April 21 at the San Francisco Giants annual Filipino American Heritage celebration. Pacquiao attracted 11,000 additional attendees to AT&T Park, where he threw a ceremonial first pitch to Tim Lincecum, a Giants pitcher who is half Filipino. Pacquiao, slated to fight Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas May 2, is known for his charitable contributions and inspiration for Filipino and Asian Americans. Some ticket proceeds from the Giants' game against the San Diego Padres benefitted community organizations such as Filipino American Arts Exposition, Manilatown Heritage Foundation and ABS-CBN Foundation's Bantay Bata program.
