Immigrants in Heartland County Become Majority

CNN, citing a recent announcement by the U.S. Census Bureau, reports that whites in Finney County, Kansas are now the minority, as immigrants become the majority population, attracted by meatpacking plants and other opportunities. Although diversity is common in states such as California and Texas, it is a surprise to this heartland area where both newcomers and long-standing residents are adjusting.
