San Diego: Photo Shootout 2003

San Diego: Sun! Camera! Action!

With the blue waters of the Pacific to the west and the desert and mountains to the east, San Diego's landscape is as diverse as its population, and that diversity served as the backdrop for this annual photo shootout. In this the land of sun, surf and sand, the photographic possibilities were endless.

This year's winners were Chihiro Koga (first place), David Krantz (second place), Tue Nam Ton (third place), and Yee-Shing Yang (honorable mention).

Koga's name will be inscribed on the Dith Pran Trophy, named in honor of AAJA friend and New York Times photographer, a survivor of the Cambodian holocaust by the Khmer Rouge. Koga also received a Nikon digital camera.
