Dai Sugano and Julie Patel Win an Emmy

Dai Sugano and Julie Patel won an Emmy for their video "Uprooted," in the category, New Approaches to News & Documentary Programming: Documentaries. Finalists in the category included PBS' Frontline, Vanguard Documentary Channel and the Web sites of the New York Times and Los Angeles Times. Sugano is a staff photojournalist for the San Jose Mercury News and a 2004 Pulitizer finalist. Patel, a former San Francisco chapter board member, is a staff writer for the Sun Sentinel. Richard Hernandez and Geri Migielicz are the executive producers of the videos.
