Student Programs

AAJA National offers the following programs for students:

Scholarships

Every year AAJA offers scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in pursuing careers in print, broadcast or photo journalism.

Internships

Journalism Internship Grants and Media Internships offer opportunities for students to receive funding for valuable journalism experience. AAJA Internships provide opportunities and grants to students pursuing journalism careers. AAJA currently offers the Stanford Chen Internship Grant, New Media Internship Grant and AAJA Internship Grant for Print, Online, or Broadcast interns who have already secured an internship and need additional support. AAJA and its partners also provide openings for AAJA applicants in several internship programs.

Asian American Student Broadcast Journalists

Attention all AAJA broadcast students! If you want to network with other broadcast students, then the new AASBJ (Asian American Student Broadcast Journalists) is a group for you. AASBJ will provide a support system and an opportunity for you to get to know your peers. This is open to all current AAJA broadcast students.

Mentorship Programs

The AAJA Print/Online News Mentorship matches students and beginning journalists with AAJA members, who are professionals in the online/print industry, in hopes of developing the future generation of journalists. The mentorship is piloted as a one year-long commitment.
