Asian American Student Broadcast Journalists
Attention all AAJA broadcast students! If you want to network with other broadcast students, then the new AASBJ (Asian American Student Broadcast Journalists) is a group for you. AASBJ will provide a support system and an opportunity for you to get to know your peers. This is open to all current AAJA broadcast students. If you are interested please contact Taylor Mirfendereski or Maxine Park, co-coordinators of AASBJ.

Mary Moy Quan Ing Memorial: $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is enrolling in college and pursuing a journalism career.
Journalism Internship Grants

- Print and Online News Grants: Internship grants of up to $1,500 to students. Made possible by the Chicago Tribune Foundation and the William Woo Internship Fund.
- Broadcast News Grants: Internship Grants of up to $2,500 to aspiring AAPI television or radio male broadcasters. Made possible by the scholarship fund of Lloyd LaCuesta and the late Sam Chu Lin.
- Stanford Chen Internship Grants: One grant of $1,750 to college students who are interns at small- to medium-size media.

- The Associated Press Internship: This internship will be a twelve-week, individually-tailored training program for students who are aspiring print, photo, graphics and multimedia journalists. Deadline has passed. Check back September 2010.
- NBC Summer Partnership: NBC Universal will offer two students the opportunity to become NBC Fellows and join one of the following NBC Programs for summer 2010 as interns. Check back February 2010 for application information.
- Sports Journalism Institute Internship: This opportunity is a nine-week training and internship program for college students interested in sports journalism careers. Check back September 2010.
- Siani Lee Broadcast Internship: This internship is held during the summer at CBS affiliate KYW-TV. Check back fall 2009 for the 2010 program application.
Journalism Trainings
- CONVENTION NEWS: This program will provide "mojo" (mobile journalism) and other news training opportunities to college students and professionals at the 2010 AAJA National Convention in Los Angeles. Deadline extended to March 29, 2010.
- J CAMP: A national multicultural journalism program for high school students that will be held in the Los Angeles area in July/August 2010. Deadline is April 2, 2010

- City University of New York-AAJA Scholarship: CUNY will provide $7,500 to an AAJA member to enroll in CUNY's innovative, three-semester program leading to an M.A. in journalism.
AAJA/Sacramento Bee Internship
In partnership with The Sacramento Bee, AAJA Sacramento is sponsoring a 12-week, internship program for aspiring print, photo, graphics and multimedia journalists. A stipend of $570 a week will be provided by AAJA Sacramento. The program begins in May or June 2010, depending on the intern's availability. Attach four copies of the application materials..
