#AAJA23 Updates: Share your ideas for our upcoming Washington, D.C. convention!

Join the Convention Planning Committee, pitch speakers, programs

AAJA Family, we can’t wait to see you all back in the nation’s capital this summer! As our planning ramps up, we invite you to share ideas with us for speakers and programming and get involved with our Convention Planning Committee.

What speakers, topics and workshops do you want to see at #AAJA23? What inspired you at #AAJA22 that you wanted to bring to the table at #AAJA23? Check out our #AAJA22 programming for examples of what’s been done in the past.

To take your ideas to the next level, be a part of the process and join the Convention Planning Committee. The committee works to ensure that the topics and speakers reflect the values and theme of convention. Getting involved is also a great way to pay it forward and make new friends within the AAJA Family.

Send us your convention speaker and program pitches and apply to join the Convention Planning Committee by Tuesday, February 7 at 11:59 p.m. PST. We can’t wait to hear from you and see #AAJA23 come to life with the spirit of our community.

ABOUT AAJA’s CONVENTION:

AAJA’s 2023 convention will be in Washington, D.C. from July 19-23, 2023. Our annual convention brings together the AAJA community, provides opportunities to meet with recruiters, fosters learning through our carefully crafted lineup of panels and workshops, and allows for collective reflection on AAPI representation, leadership and ownership within the field of journalism. We look forward to welcoming our #AAJAFamily, from the ones who have been with us since 1981, to those who have joined within the past year, for an illuminating week of conversations, community, and skills-building. #AAJA23 Covid-19 Policy: We continue to face the unique challenges of balancing public and personal health concerns in the pandemic era with our in-person programming. In light of the uncertainty, we will closely monitor public health guidelines and follow all rules outlined by public officials. We will also require proof of vaccination to attend the convention.
