Position Overview

The FRONTLINE Dispatch is a new, narrative podcast series made by the people who make the award-winning PBS investigative documentary series, FRONTLINE. Each episode of The FRONTLINE Dispatch focuses on telling crucial domestic and international stories with the same rigor and tenacity that audiences expect from FRONTLINE.

The FRONTLINE Dispatch is pleased to be growing our staff for Season 2. We are actively seeking a superstar Digital Production Assitant. This is an amazing job for someone who likes to do a little bit of everything. This person will help us make world class audio stories by cutting tape, doing research, participating in group brainstorms and workshops, and mixing and scoring audio. They will also work closely with our Executive Producer, Raney Aronson, in the studio, coordinate tape syncs, and handle all equipment needs. He/she will be editorially involved on all stories and in all story meetings. Their voice will be a valued part of our production process and our editorial decisions. This is a terrific position for someone with a solid background in radio journalism looking to work on investigative stories and eager to learn and to grow.

He/she will also help us connect our podcast to new and diverse audiences by coming up with creative ways to inspire people to listen, subscribe to and share The FRONTLINE Dispatch. Our ideal candidate is obsessed with audio storytelling, journalism, public media, and cares about building buzz and awareness though distinct audience engagement efforts.


Skills Required

On a practical level, this person must be a great communicator (both written and oral), terrific and confident writer who is used to writing for radio, have a good radio ear for scoring and mixing, be able to collaborate easily with many different people across several departments, and be very comfortable using ProTools. We are looking for someone who is a creator, maker, collaborator and marketer and is hungry to do it all.


Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred.
