Thomas Mangloña (AAJA-San Francisco Bay Area) will be interning at ABC7 News San Francisco Bay Area this summer. He is a rising junior at the University of California, Berkeley pursuing a B.A. in media studies and minor in comparative ethnic studies. He hails from the island of Rota of the Northern Mariana Islands and is a Gates Millennium Scholarship recipient. He was a recipient of AAJA’s Lloyd LaCuesta Broadcast News Grant, which helped him intern at the Pacific News Center in Guam and produce several stories for their ABC7 and FOX6 platforms last summer, and is a 2015 JCamp alumnus. At UC Berkeley, he currently serves as the director for CalTV, the university's student-run online television station, is an active member of UC Berkeley's AAJA student chapter and does community organizing under the Asian-Pacific American Student Development Office. Claire Tran (AAJA-New England) will begin a year-long fellowship this July at The Atlantic where she will be writing and researching for their urban life website CityLab. She is currently a senior at Boston University studying journalism with minors in public health and political science.
