New England Public Radio Pittsfield, MA

New England Public Radio (WFCR and WNNZ) seeks a creative, highly motivated reporter/producer to cover Berkshire County full time for the station’s award-winning news department. This position will be based in Pittsfield, Mass. The ideal candidate would be able to work under tight deadlines to produce issue-oriented, narrative-driven news and feature stories for the radio and web about events and people in western New England.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field. Two years professional broadcast journalism experience. Ability to report, research, write, edit and broadcast high-quality newscast and feature material. Excellent communication and language skills. Excellent judgment in evaluating and handling news and public information. Ability to travel to sources of news stories and work hours outside normal business day. Familiarity with public broadcasting and public radio.

Hiring Salary Range: $38,000 - $47,600 (normal starting salary $38,000 - $42,800).
