We are thrilled to announce the members of Team AAJA this year! These passionate runners are taking on the challenge of running the world renowned TCS New York City Marathon and are committed to raising money to support AAJA’s mission.
- Kelly Kimball is fundraising to strengthen mentorship. She is the managing editor of the news start-up Frame (frame.media) and running on behalf of the New York Chapter. Running this marathon is part of her mission to give back to an organization that helped empower her career and helped her land her first role in the industry.
- Ben Goggin is fundraising to build community. He works for NBC News as a tech editor and won an AAJA Journalism Excellence award in 2023. He is running on behalf of the New York Chapter. Ben is planning a homemade dumpling party fundraiser for AAJA later this year.
- Emily Kwong is fundraising to bolster scholarships. She is an award-winning audio journalist and the host of NPR’s Short Wave and Inherited podcasts. Emily is honored to run for the Washington D.C. Chapter to provide scholarship support for the next generation.
- Jin Ding is fundraising to broaden programming. Jin is the CEO of Initium Media. AAJA helped them transition to a nonprofit leader in English journalism, supporting their passion for serving their community, and empowered them to take the leap and return to Chinese journalism last year. Jin is running on behalf of AAJA National.
We are also excited to be joined by Dan Petty and Vincent Au, who are rounding out the team on our Team Allies.
Please join us in supporting the six members of Team AAJA as they train and fundraise ahead of the TCS New York City Marathon on November 3, 2024.
