We are committed to advancing diversity in newsrooms and ensuring fair and accurate coverage of communities of color. We offer AAJA members different resources for career advancement, and community engagement.

To get started, complete a few first steps listed below. 

1. Build your Portfolio

• • Please be sure to log in at www.aaja.org/login. Here, you will find your Member Profile, a place to update your information: demographic/ personal info, change in employment/job, accomplishments, career and industry interests. By filling out your profile, this helps us serve you better.
  • You will be able to print out your membership receipt and set your payment to auto-renewal.

2. Learn and Grow with AAJA – Career Advancement

• • Check out AAJA programs like the Executive Leadership Program, Mentor Match, Voices, and JCamp.
  • Access AAJA’s Career Center. Note that this is a separate login, and any updates to your AAJA account will not update this information.
  • AAJA members get exclusive Scholarship and Internship Opportunities, through our signature and partner programs.
  • AAJA members receive a discount on the AP Stylebook Online. Your member ID is the email address you used for your membership.

3. Network and Connect with Other AAJA Members 

• • Reach out and introduce yourself to your local AAJA Chapter or join one of our many affinity groups. 
    • By joining their listservs or following their social media, you can stay informed with other ways to connect with fellow AAJA members, network, attend events, and find other opportunities like local scholarships and internships. 
    • Join and explore AAJA’s Slack channel by requesting an invite with your chapter’s leadership. You may forward them your membership email receipt as membership confirmation for your invite request.
  • Members benefit from discounts to AAJA events, including AAJA’s annual convention.
  • Follow AAJA on Twitter and introduce yourself and mention us @AAJA “I just joined the #AAJAFamily!” Be sure to include a little blurb about yourself, and why you joined/renewed.
