As we approach the 2024 presidential election, AAJA has compiled a list of basic voter rights, election safety resources for journalists and AAPI voter fact sheets.
Know Your Rights
Every voter has voting rights, however they may differ from state to state so it’s important to check your state’s rules.
- APIAVote
- APIAVote offers In-Language Voter Info on their website to help people understand key voter information on how to vote in the United States. The languages they have are: Bengali, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, Hindi, Punjabi, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog and Urdu.
- They also offer election information specific to all 50 states. In addition, APIAVote has translated voter guides in 10 states for the 2024 election to help voters. The 10 states are: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

Journalists covering the upcoming 2024 election should know what rights they have and what resources are available.
- Committee to Protect Journalists
- The Committee to Protect Journalists offers resources and guidance on how to safely cover elections, including assessing risk, creating evacuation plans and becoming familiar with their 2024 Election Safety Kit.

- The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press created an Election Legal Guide that provides an overview of legal issues journalists may face when covering the 2024 election. The guide is also available in Spanish.

AAPI Voter Fact Sheets
The AAPI demographic is the fastest growing racial group in the United States. It is important to understand their impact and gain key insights into this diverse community.
- APIAVote
- APIAVote created AAPI voter demographics data by state. You can learn about the AAPI community and how many eligible voters there are in different states, such as Georgia and Pennsylvania.
- AAPI Data
- AAPI Data has conducted surveys on Asian American voters since 2016. Surveys include key findings, presidential favorability and policy views and perspectives.
- White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and AAPI Data
- This 2024 national factsheet from the WHIAANHPI and AAPI Data highlights key demographic trends, economic contributions and health disparities affecting these communities. The data underscores the diversity within the AANHPI population and emphasizes the importance of targeted policy efforts to address their unique needs.
